I stumbled upon this site when looking for some pre-field trip activities for an excursion we were supposed to take down to the Audubon Conservation Eduction Center (near Norm's Island and Riverfront Park). Since the lovely spring snow forced us to cancel, we went on a virtual field trip instead.
There are some excellent articles on nature and conservation topics, as well as really fun activities that my 4th graders loved!

Discovery Channel's
Game Central has great interactive games for all ages.
Check out the Life or Death games. The students can choose to survive the jungle, ocean or winter. You must choose the correct items in order to survive your situation. It is totally not what you expect, and they give you some great life saving tips.
Montana LINCS Pilot Project is a great resource for all curriculum areas. Check it out.
Know that using graphic organizers is an effective teaching strategy but not ready for the online, interactive version? Well,
Worksheet Library might just be your answer. This site has downloadable worksheets in .pdf format with a variety of organizers that you can print. You can find G.O. for cause/effect, cycles, time, charting...and much, much more. This site is definitely worth checking out.
Tammy's Tidbits is a website that a teacher put together to collect internet resources for every subject area.
This site is a great resource for planning lessons on critical evaluation of web sites. It also has links to bogus web sites for students to "evaluate". Click on

ABC News has a collection of videos on current events covering a variety of topics: World news, science and technology, finance, and politics...just to name a few.
The videos are short clips that you can use for just in time learning moments!

site was shared with me by a high school Social Studies teacher, but I think it could be used in lower grades. There is some information on Native Americans as well.
