I remember in elementary school, I was always anxiously awaiting the next issue of Highlights Magazine. Well Highlights for Kids in online! You can find the same fun and educational activities that you enjoyed as a kid.

Another example of an Internet Project, Thinkquest is a free and safe web site that contains competitions for students and projects for classrooms. It also has a valuable library of resources for students and teachers alike.

Will Steger and a group of youth have a mission...to have a voice at the Expedition Copenhagen 2009. This is an Internet Project where "your students can track news coverage and learn skills to make their opinions matter." (NEA May 2009)

You can get classroom resources as a teacher, or direct your students to the student resources at Discovery Networks. Discovery Networks focuses on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Recover.

This looks like a good site for elementary. It is produced by the EPA and has 6 scenes with a quiz as well. It is called The EPA Climate Change Kids Page.

The scenes presented are:

• Green house gases
• Solar rays
• Deforestation
• Emissions
• Conclusion

Discovery Channel's Game Central has great interactive games for all ages.

Check out the Life or Death games. The students can choose to survive the jungle, ocean or winter. You must choose the correct items in order to survive your situation. It is totally not what you expect, and they give you some great life saving tips.

This website on Montana Climate Change (http://www.montanaclimatechange.org/index.php) is a collaboration of many organizations, what's happening in politics, etc. on the concept of climate change in Montana.

Tammy's Tidbits is a website that a teacher put together to collect internet resources for every subject area.

If you have not heard of GapMinder, you need to check it out!! And then, you need to share this site with your co-workers. This site has some great visuals that can be used in math, social studies, science, health, business...almost any classroom.

Learn about trends in the world (climate, population, technology, health and more). To get started, go to this site and click on the GapMinder World Link. You will be impressed with all off the information you can uncover.

Here is a great site that shows students the foundations of robotics. It is a high interest site. :)

This site has activities for a number of subject areas.  It is geared to the elementary level.  Many of the activities are interactive.    Click here to visit the site.

ABC News has a collection of videos on current events covering a variety of topics: World news, science and technology, finance, and politics...just to name a few.

The videos are short clips that you can use for just in time learning moments!
